ASIC Consultation
Paper 126 - Facilitating Debt Raising
On Monday 7 December 2009,
the Australian and Securities Commission (ASIC)
issued Consultation Paper 126 - Facilitating Debt Raising.
This consultation paper:
- sets
out ASIC’s proposals for relief to facilitate offers of quoted
corporate bonds and convertible notes; and
- seeks feedback from
stakeholders on how effectively annual reports are operating as a
means of providing disclosure to investors.
This consultation paper
seeks the views of stakeholders, including entities, industry
associations, retail investors and their professional advisers by 19

Securities reform
The Federal
Attorney-General's department has released a consultation draft of
the Personal Property Securities (Corporations and Other Amendments)
Bill 2009. The Bill proposes changes to the Corporations Act 2001
resulting from the enactment of the Personal Property Securities

Guidance for the new
classification and measurement of financial
instruments
In the first of three stages
in the project to replace IAS 39, an exposure draft was issued on 14
July 2009 providing guidance on a new classification and measurement
model for financial assets and liabilities. As proposed all
recognized financial instruments in the scope of IAS 39 will be
measured at either amortised cost or fair value. Deloittes

The FTA has entered into a partnership
