Invitation to join the Finance & Treasury Association
The FTA provides training, skills development, networking forums, access to a virtual library of technical information and acts as a voice on policy issues for our constituency.
The FTA was initially incorporated as the Australian Society of Corporate Treasurers in Victoria on 24 December 1985 and has evolved to its current structure some 25 years later.
For one year’s membership (12 months rolling from the date you join) you are entitled to:
- a $440 discount to attend the annual FTA Congress - the flagship forum on the Australasian calendar for treasury and risk management professionals held each year in mid-late October;
- complimentary invitations to a number of professional development forums throughout the year in the major capital cities (value of $330-$440);
- member discounts to other continuing professional development (CPD) forums throughout the year;
- access to members’ only section of the website – a virtual repository on treasury and risk management presentations, papers and technical materials;
- invitations to member networking forums including luncheons with keynote speakers and social gatherings; and
- be part of a body to develop letters and submissions to influence regulatory developments in treasury and risk management areas.
The cost for one year’s membership is $A465 (incl GST).
Certified Finance & Treasury Professionals are required to undertake at least 20 hours of accredited finance and treasury training per annum to meet the FTA CPD requirement and are required to adhere to the strict code of ethics of the Association.

Strengthen your knowledge and technical skills
The FTA provides professional development events in varying formats throughout the country.
Professional roundtables
Professional roundtables are held regularly throughout the year. They are informal discussions on a theme or topic usually presented by a senior member of the FTA.
Seminars, workshops and conferences
Seminars, workshops and conferences are run by the FTA to provide learning opportunities on issues relevant to treasury and risk management professionals. FTA sources expert practitioners and corporate treasurers from its membership base to present on the latest technical issues and trends.
FTA's Annual Congress
The Congress is the premier event of the FTA calendar and the finance and treasury industry presenting a strong line-up of key-note speakers as well as a comprehensive program of technical issues delivered by industry experts.
It provides members with a major opportunity to remain current on the latest issues and trends in treasury and financial risk management and to network and socialize with peers.
Education
The FTA facilitates members’ access to post-graduate training in specialist areas of finance and treasury in Australia. Members also have access to international qualifications such as:
- The UK Association of Corporate Treasurers Certificate in International Treasury Management which is delivered on-line; and
- The US Association for Finance Professionals Certified Treasury Professional qualification
- Both these qualifications assist members to enter international markets.

Aspire to Higher Membership Levels
Members can also aspire to higher levels of membership which demonstrate their experience, knowledge and commitment to the highest professional standards to their peers and the industry generally.
Upon joining the FTA you will have access to all member benefits. Member can then progress to the next level of membership - Certified Finance and Treasury Professional (CFTP). Fellow of the Finance and Treasury Profession (FFTP) are also available. You must meet certain professional experience and educational requirements to achieve advance standing.
